GIVE ME LIBERTY

Vic, a hapless young Russian American, drives a medical van for people with disabilities in Milwaukee. Already running late on a day when street protests have broken out, Vic is on the verge of being fired. When he reluctantly agrees to ferry his grandfather and a dozen elderly Russians to a funeral, his day goes from bad to worse. But when, on the way to the funeral, Vic stops in an African American neighborhood to pick up Tracy, a woman with ALS, Vic’s day spins completely out of control.

Kirill Mikhanovsky is Russian-born director, writer and producer. He grew up in Moscow. After graduating from NYU Film School, Mikhanovsky went on to make films in the US, Brazil, Russia, and South America. His first feature Sonhos de peixe won the Critics Week at the Cannes Film Festival. Mikhanovsky’s films include: Dubrovskiy (2014) and Inhale Exhale (2003) Give me Liberty was screened at the 2019 Sundance Film Festival and than at Cannes Film Festival.
