Anne, a brilliant and dedicated advocacy lawyer specialising in society’s most vulnerable, children and young adults, lives what appears to be the picture-perfect life with her doctor-husband, Peter, and their twin daughters. When her estranged teenage stepson, Gustav, moves in with them, Anne’s escalating desire leads her down a dangerous rabbit hole which, once exposed, unleashes a sequence of events destined to destroy her world.

MEJ EL-TUKI / MAY EL-TOUKHY
May Еl-Toukhy (1977) graduated from the Danish National School of Performing Arts in 2002 and graduated as a director from the National Film School of Denmark in 2009. She has directed a number of radio and television shows. Еl-Toukhy made her feature debut with the romantic comedy Long Story Short (2015), an ensemble drama, which won a Bodil award for best screenplay. Еl-Toukhy's second feature film, Queen of Hearts (2019), written by the director in collaboraton with Maren Louise Käehne, won the audience award at Sundance along with the main prize at Göteborg for best Nordic film as well as best actress and the audience award. The film also took home the Nordic Council Film Prize 2019.
