The dead are coming back to life outside the isolated Mi’gmaq reserve of Red Crow, except for its Indigenous inhabitants who are immune to the zombie plague. Traylor, the tribal sheriff, must protect his son’s pregnant girlfriend and refugees from the hordes of walking white corpses.

Jeff Barnaby was born on a Mi'gmaq reserve in Listujug, Quebec. His filmmaking paints a stark and scathing problems of post-colonial life and the culture of Metis people in Canada. Before Blood Quantum he directed Rhymes for Young Chouls, as his debut feature film.
A Canadian tribal reservation is beset by zombies in a horror opus that's gory yet more stylish than scary.
